Another masculine card, with directions...

Although the stamp set "Feeling Sentimental" and the wide ribbon is "retired", this is a card that would work great for the men in your life!  Directions can be found below:

If you were one of the lucky ones that has this stamp set, you're in business. If not, try finding a stamp image you have on hand, that will work as a substitute.

"Feeling Sentimental" Masculine Card Directions:
  • First stamp image onto a 4" piece of scrap Very Vanilla cardstock, using Early Espresso classic ink.
  • Punch out stamped image with the 2-1/2" circle punch.
  • Sponge the edges of circle with Early Espresso classic ink.
  • Insert one small round brad through the center of large wheel hub, then insert an extra small brad into the center of the small wheel hub. (Set circle aside for now.)
  •  Emboss a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Early Espresso cardstock. (Use any 'masculine' design...just no flowers!)
  • Attach ribbons across front and around each side. Glue ribbons to the back side of embossed cardstock.     Shown is (retired) Early Espresso wide, stripped ribbon with our Very Vanilla crochet lace, glued on top.
  • Center and mat to a Very Vanilla card base with Tom Bo glue. (Card base is 11" x 4-1/4" folded at 5-1/2 ").
  • Now place 5-6 dimensionals on back (edges and center) of circle and attach over the ribbon (as shown).
  •  Stamp a greeting on inside of card base, using Early Espresso classic ink.   Your card is done!

Elegant, yet easy Punch card...

Here is a really easy card to make and it turns out so elegant looking in black and white! (but you could use any bright or bold colored cardstock you want, and it would turn out beautiful!  Change greeting for other occasions.

(Brandy Cox has a great video on making 10 cards in 20 minutes, while using this card layout.  I did not have the same stamp set she used, so I made do with stamps I had, in a similar style/design. I like how mine turned out!)

I ended up using two of the "Delicate Doilies" a set of 4 stamps...used medium doily for flower and a smaller doily for the border strip. I used "Perfectly Penned" for the greeting. (This greeting is also sold separately as a single, cling stamp.)

Although I show a large Rhinestone in center of this card, I liked using large Pearls for the ones I made later.
Note: I also made my border strip a little wider than hers...and I cut my white CS a little differently than she did. Mine is cut 5-1/4" x 8" wide, and then I folded it in half to create a 5-1/4 x 4" wide (white) card base.  My black  piece of cardstock is cut at 5-1/2" x  4-1/4" wide.

You'll need our 4 different sized Scallop Circle punches, to make the flower, plus the 2-1/2" Circle punch for punching out the "window".    (Click HERE if you need to order any of the punches or stamps.)

Wedding card (case) with matching lined envelope...

Totally cased!  Saw a photo of this card and recreated it for a friend who needed a wedding card for an up coming occasion. (I'll see if I saved the name of the person who posted the original card layout, so I can give them credit.)

Although it turned out was time consuming. I had only the picture to go by.  There were no directions or cutting dimensions, so I just made up my own.  My card ended up being a 5-1/4" square card and used a 5-1/2" envelope, which I lined with matching DSP.

(P.S. I finally located the original photo! It was by Krystal De Leeuw on Stampin' Connection. Thanks Krystal!)

A great Masculine card made for the "Swap"...

I used the brand new "Wetlands" stamp set...(has both images and greetings) to create this Masculine card.

Wetlands card by Micki Daniel. All images ©Stampin'Up
You can re-create this Masculine card by using: the Square Lattice embossing folder, watercolor paper, ink pads, Aqua-painter, both Oval and Window Framelits, Large oval punch and large Scallop oval punch. Also used were Early Espresso and Very Vanilla cardstock.  (Need the supplies?  Click HERE to order some or all!)

(As with my other swaps, I made a few extra cards to keep for myself. I plan on using them for masculine b-day, retirement, get well, and Father's day...I only have to change the stamped greeting, to fit the occasion!)

I hope you are inspired to begin creating your own unique, handmade cards.  It is sooooo much fun!!

Another "Swap" card...

Here is another card I made to "swap" with others in the group.
I incorporated a fun embossing technique to get the unique focal point for the new 5-Way Flower stamp.

Besides the 3 different sized scallop punches, needed to punch out the different layers of the 5-Way Flower image,  I also used "Trust God" set (front greeting), striped embossing folder, Oval Framelits and Decorative Label punch.

Try making one for yourself...switch out flower, change CS colors and greeting to your choice!  It's a fun card!
Let me know if you have any other questions about making this card.  (More card swaps to come!)

Craft room almost organized...and a "Swap Card"...

I'm about to wrap-up my new craft studio (now organizing) and then I'll be able to take photos to share with you.

For now, the next couple of posts will be of some cards I recently made for a "Card Swap".

I used the brand new "Backyard Basics" stamp set (die-cut framelits matching each stamp image, also available!). I also used Oval Framelits, Square Lattice emboss "Trust God" stamp set for front greeting.
Finished card is 5-1/2" x 4-1/4"

(I really liked how they turned out,so I decided to make a few extra, to give to friends and family.)
