Z-Fold card while using more retired products...Directions below.

Here is my version of a Z-Fold card I made while using up more of my stash of retired Designer Series Paper (DSP).
It looks like a regular card, until it is opened.  (The inside greeting is completely hidden behind the front label when card is in the closed position.)
This is a fun and easy card to make!

Directions: To make the Z-fold card base, start with a 8 1/2" wide by 5 1/2" tall piece of cardstock. Score at: 2 1/8" and  4 1/4".  Fold back at the 2 1/8" score line...then fold forward at the 4 1/4" score line.   (Decorate as desired.)
Have fun making your own Z-fold card today!

"Mystery Card"...no one guessed ALL five ways yet...can YOU ?

Can you name the five (5) different ways I used my Big Shot Machine to make this card?

So far, no one has guessed all 5 CORRECT ways I used my Big Shot to make this card!...although most came up with 4 of the 5.  This was a tough one for everyone...because one BS die is so useful we sometimes over look it in a posted card!
Try guessing (again?) before you check the answer at the end of this post...no peeking, now!

I used the following Big Shot items to make this card:

1.  The Petals-a-Plenty embossing folder on the square mat (glued to white mat).
2.  The Polka dot embossing folder on the white circle. (punched circle with the 2.5" punch.)
3.  The Little Leaves Sizzlits die to cut the leaves. (leaves were then sponged w/ old olive ink.)
4.  The Stripes embossing folder on the Melon Mambo mat (glued to Pink Pirouette card base).
5.   ??

Can you now guess the 5th Big Shot item I used?

Hint: It is a Big Shot die that is so basic that we usually over look it on a posted photo, and it was the first thing I started with to make this card.

Still "stumped"? You are going to kick yourself for not thinking of this one!

Answer: I used the Movers and Shapers Base die to cut and score my card base!
Although no one guessed all 5 answers correctly...many came very close!
(Check out the great answers found in comments section of post below.)
I bet no one will forget this die, next time they play a "Mystery Card" game!  lol

A big "THANK YOU!" to everyone who played the "Mystery Card" guessing game with me!  (P.S. Sorry, computer problems caused this to be posted a little later than promised).

Use up your retired supplies...

With the new 2012-2013 Annual Catalog coming, there will be lots of new products that we will love and "want". Why not start now and make a bunch of cards for personal use...just to have on hand...using retired product? Make up "Any Occasion Note Cards" in sets...to give as gifts.   Here's a few "sample layouts" of easy card ideas:

Hint: Keep the design easy (for mass producing) and the greeting (if you use one) generic. Use DSP and cardstock you have on hand, especially if it's retiring...and make room for the "NEW"!
I hope you are inspired to make your own, handmade cards today.   (Order your supplies HERE.)
