My gift to you...simple, springtime hope...

I have been trying new "types" of cards...trying to see if I can keep them "simple"...yet with lots of attraction and character. This is hard for me, as I usually end up adding layers, ribbons, embellishments, etc.

With this card, I wanted to portray the beginning of spring...when everything is still "bleak and bare" ...yet we start to see a spot of color...here and there...bringing us the first gifts of color, after a bleak, cold winter.

If these past wintery months have seemed long to you, I hope spring (and this card) will bring you the 'color of hope' ...back into your world.   - Micki

I used soft suede ink to stamp the girl from the stamp set Easter Blossoms  on whisper white cardstock
I used the melon mambo and old olive markers to color just the portion of the flowers on the stamp first. ...after I had masked and sponged the 'sky and clouds' with bashful blueGreeting is also from set.

(Yes...I very carefully seperated her little basket...so I could use her both with or without it.)

Visit the 'Avenue' often...and keep stamping!

What a sweet and simple card. I also separate my stamps so I can use them without having to use pens to color the part I want. Nice job on the oval as well. I am now following you. Thanks for blessing my day. :)
